Diop on target for Portsmouth

Papa Bouba Diop scored for Portsmouth in their 2-1 win against Oxford last night.

Papa found the back of the net in the 31st minute of the friendly at the Kassam Stadium, after connecting with a cross from defender Djimi Traore.

Jermain Defoe doubled the score shortly before half-time, but the hosts managed to get one back in the closing stages of the game thanks to a goal from Alex Fisher.

Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp´s side have completed the signing of striker Omar Koroma from Gambian side Banjul Hawks on a two-year deal.

The 18 year-old impressed Redknapp during a recent trial at Fratton Park and has appeared for the side three times during the pre-season.

A season-long loan at Norwich has been arranged to allow Koroma to gain regular first-team experience.

And Redknapp thinks he´s a Pompey star of the future. He told the club´s official site: "I´ve been very impressed with him. I´m pleased we´ve got him here."

"He´s a good kid and he´s got the potential to become a very good player."
